以前、文庫を１冊本と分冊本で同時発売した時、『分冊が売れて、厚い１冊本は売れないのでは』という意見があったが、売れ行きは変わらなかった。持ち運びに便利だけれど、全部買うと若干割高になる分冊本と、若干安いけれど厚い分持ちにくい１冊本ではニーズが異なるからだ。同じ文庫ユーザーでもこれだけ違うのだから、ハードカバーの単行本はもっと違うし、電子書籍はさらに違う。販路が多いほうが売れるわけで、（紙と電子の）同時発売があり得ないということはない
